Naomé Schenk: You are joining the editorial team of Swiss Luxury Magazine as Deputy Editor-in-Chief. What are the main steps of your career?

Sabah Kaddouri: I grew up in France in the Lyon region where I studied Letters. Like many of my provincial compatriots, I "went up to Paris". The famous call of the Capital. Contrary to Switzerland, everything is centralized here, and you have to be in Paris to have a wide choice of academic options and very wide professional opportunities. So I followed a journalism course at EFAP Paris, which has a specialized program. Thanks to my studies, I was able to join Le Figaro at the Pôle Actu Web. It was quite a challenge to join such influential media in the French and European landscape! And also quite proud to have been able to be part of the "family" of this press title created in 1826, the only French daily newspaper still in operation at the time! Three years later, I felt like exploring new horizons and challenging myself again. But above all, I wanted to be able to cover business and luxury news because both subjects have always fascinated me!

As a reader of the business press, I quickly spotted that Forbes was launching in France... I joined the adventure at its launch. Forbes is the ultimate reference in the world of business, entrepreneurship, luxury, and lifestyle. It is a media - known by all - infinitely respected across the continents. It's intimidating at first...

Today, you are one of the most influential print journalists in France journalists by collaborating with this prestigious magazine. What subjects do you cover at Forbes?

Everything! One day, I can be in Silicon Valley for a Business & Tech report in the land of start-ups, the next day, I can be at an International Forum to cover an important conference on Women's Leadership and Gender Equality; and then on to Paris Fashion Week for a glamorous sequence. On a daily basis, I bring my insight on the Economic, Political, Entrepreneurial, Woman@Forbes, and Luxury news.

You have notably interviewed great personalities...

Portraits and interviews are one of my favorite journalistic exercises. Behind great names, and brilliant careers, there have often been a thousand difficulties and lessons. I like personalities with inspiring stories, but also those who are committed and are in the business of transmission. To be satisfied with a "celebrity" interview, no thank you! My objective is to touch the reader, to nourish reflections so that he too feels inspired.

Any names to mention?

I spontaneously think of Sir Paul McCartney, the Beatles legend, Jane Fonda, Angelina Jolie, Melinda Gates, Jean Paul Gaultier...And I hope one day to land the Roger Federer myth!

Why Switzerland? What is your history with our country?

I often answer that Switzerland is my country of heart. I lived there for almost two years in the Canton of Vaud in Morges. A beautiful city that has everything of the Swiss postcard! I love this country, I love its people, and its culture. People say that France is the country of luxury and the art of living, I think that Switzerland can also claim the same qualifications!

I have always kept in mind to collaborate one day with a Swiss media specializing in these two fields that I am passionate about and for which there is so much to say. The demand is very high for these subjects. I was just waiting for the right timing and the right meeting. There had to be alchemy. Swiss Luxury Magazine captures this Swiss DNA through its editorial line. This webzine is also one of the oldest in the Confederation, it has been able to cross all the waves and trends. I'm looking forward to being part of the adventure!

Welcome dear Sabah!
